Scott Baker

Scott Baker 

is the head men's coach at Rowan University and the Director of RUSA.  He has spent the past six years at Rowan University working with the Men’s Soccer Program. Rowan has been recognized as the top program in the country during his time as the head coach.  Scott has also received Coach of the Year for the (NJAC) New Jersey Athletic Conference.  In addition to Rowan, Scott is serving on the New Jersey ODP state board.  Before working at Rowan and coming back to New Jersey, he was the Athletic Director and Head of the Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Academy at Boca Prep International School in Boca Raton, Florida.   Scott was also the Associate Coach/Director of Training for the Boca Blast, women’s professional soccer team (WPSL) and the Head Coach and Academy Director of the prestigious Team Boca Soccer Club.  During the past twenty five years Baker has experienced great results as a teacher, coach, trainer, adviser, and director at the high school, club, academy, collegiate, and professional levels. He brings this experience to RUSA to enhance the club at all levels with the same character, discipline, and enthusiasm that has brought him much success throughout his career.

These achievements are a result of a focus on the pursuit of excellence off and on the field.  It is important for us, as administrators and educators, to challenge and support our student-athletes in a way which inspires them to be at their best.  Scott has built strong and healthy relationships with student-athletes and colleagues through a commitment to lead by example in all areas of life, education, and sport.  

Coach Baker is excited to bring this experience and approach to south jersey soccer.  He is confident that working closely with the coaches, players and teams that he will create a positive experience for hundreds of players on all different levels.

Justin Abbey

Justin Abbey 

Brings over 20 years of youth coaching experience on both the boys' and girls' side of the game. He has coached youth teams that have placed players into professional academies and his teams have won numerous nationally recognized tournaments. Seven of Coach Abbey's players have moved on to the Philadelphia Union Academy in the last 3 years. In his two years at FC Copa Academy, Coach Abbey was able to take a startup team ranked over 100 in the state and move them up to be the highest rated team at FC Copa. The RUSA G06 ranking 2nd in the state, 3rd in the region and winning prestigious tournaments like the EDP CUP, Jefferson Cup, Columbia Invitational and finishing second in EDP NL 1.

Coach Abbey has previously served as Director of Coching at Pittsgrove SC and as Director and Technical Director for FC Copa Academy. He is currently the men's assistant coach at Rowan University.  Coach Abbey grew up playing youth soccer in southern New Jersey. At the age of 14 he was offered the opportunity to play in europe where he gathered experience playing with Danish club Holbaek B&I. Upon returning to the United States, he attended St. Augustine Prep. Coach Abbey was a four year starter at the Prep and a two year captain.  He was named All South Jersey and All State his juniour and senior seasons and was selected as one of the top 18 players in the state his senior year. He finished his high school career with 99 goals and 129 assists. Postining an incredable senior season of 41 goals and 49 assits. He attended Rowan University where he was again a four year starter. Coach Abbey was selected to all confrence and all region honors and was a member of the only undefeated regular season in Rowan Men's Soccer history in 1995 on the team that finished 16-0-3. He finished his collegiate career as Rowan Universities all time assist leader and the third leading scorer in the schools rich soccer history. In 2019 Coch Abbey was inducted into the South Jersey Hall of Fame. 

After college, Justin was drafted into the MISL and played professionally. Justin holds a USSF license.

Jake Connors 

Started his playing career with Matchfit Academy and was a consistent starter for the club when they played in the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy. This allowed him to be recruited by Rowan University where he was a four-year starter for the college. During his career Connors totaled 57 career points with 17 goals and 23 assists, his impact led the program to be ranked #1 in the country for Division III soccer. In his Senior year he captained the team and was named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference first team and the United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic All-Region second team. Connors is now currently playing professionally for the Philadelphia Fury. Presently Connors is the Director of Operations and staff coach for RUSA and is an Assistant coach to Rowan University Men’s Soccer team.

John Loiodice 

Serves as an assistant mens coach at Rowan University. Coach John has also coached in South Jersey at Triton Regional High School and Bishop Eustace High School. Prior to that, John has coached the U23 Ocean City Nor'Easters.  John presently serves as a NJ ODP Coach as well.

Neil Condon

Entering his 19th year of coaching youth soccer. A native of Brisbane, Australia, Coach Neil had a standout career as a player. By the age of 18 he played at all representative levels. In 1994 and 1995 he was an Australian National Youth Team representative touring South America.                                                                                                                  

The following year he signed on to play in college in America. Coach Neil was a four year starter at the University of Saint Francis, a Scholar-Athlete and Dean’s List student. Coach Neil graduated from the University of Saint Francis with a Bachelor of Business with Honors in 2001. In 2004, he graduated with Post-Graduate Degree, Masters of Liberal Arts from Lock Haven University.

From 2002-2004, spent two years as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Lock Haven University. In his tenure he guided the Lady Eagles to a 2002 PSAC Conference Championship, a Northeast Regional Championship, and a place in the Sweet sixteen of the NCAA Division II Championships. Lock Haven ranked 5th in Nation, producing two All-American, three All-Region, and six All-Conference players. A coaching record of 29 wins 2 draws and 10 defeats.

In the period of 2005-2011, his Youth Academy team: Cherry Hill Power earned a #1 ranking in New Jersey, #4 ranking in Region 1, and #6 ranking in the Country. All 18 players received College Scholarships. From 2005-2008 Coach Neil has held tenure as “Technical Director” at Highland Soccer Club. He has spent recent years coaching and training higher level youth teams at various clubs throughout southern New Jersey.

In recent years, Coach Neil has held the position of Southern New Jersey Director for Soccer Shots franchise in Atlantic County, Cumberland county, and Camden County. Soccer Shots is a soccer program offered at daycare, childcare, preschools, and private schools throughout southern New Jersey.

Coach Neil has extended his coaching education with a NSCAA National Diploma, and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I, and II Diplomas coaching certification. In addition he holds a USSF National License, and is NCAA College Compliance certified.

Vinny Ignatowicz 

Vinny Ignatowicz started and played in every game as a freshman on the 2009 Group 4 State Championship winning Toms River South HS Varsity soccer team. He then went on to Captain that team his next three years, finishing in 2011 & 2012 as MVP and points leader.

As a freshman at Rowan University, Vinny played in (17) games scoring a pair of goals and tallying (5) assists. From then he went on to assume his more important role as team captain in 2014, 2015 and 2016, ending his career with (17) goals and (12) assists. As a leader on and off the field, Ignatowicz motivated his team by leading through example and constantly engaging with each and every player. Ignatowicz received 2nd team All-Region Awards as a senior and would look to continue his career the following year to play professionally with the Philadelphia Fury. Vinny started and played in every game of the 2017 Spring Season with the Fury, who  went undefeated in the American Soccer League winning the league title. While touring Spain, the Fury went undefeated defeating 3 Segunda II B teams in Benidorm, La Nucia, and Alicante. Now Vinny is using his experience and expertise to positively influence American Soccer culture and its youth development!

Kyle Schumann 

An assistant women's soccer coach Jefferson University. Schumann previously served as an assistant coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2018. The Bulldogs posted a 13-5-1 record with their only losses coming to teams who competed in the NCAA Tournament. Kyle was also a men's soccer assistant coach at Malone University in 2017.

Outside of his collegiate coaching experience, Schumann was lead staff coach, goalkeeper coach and academy director for the Highlander Soccer Club in Bixby, Oklahoma. His extensive coaching resume also includes experience as a goalkeeper coach and assistant coach at both Moore and Putnam City West High Schools.

Schumann played in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) in 2013 as a goalkeeper for the Tulsa Athletic. He spent his collegiate career at Southern Nazarene University, where he helped the Crimson Storm to four consecutive appearances in the NAIA Tournament, advancing to the national semifinals in 2005. Schumann was named a NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete in 2007. He was a member of the 2005 state runner-up team at Broken Arrow High School, earning All-State honors.

A certified United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and former collegiate referee, Schumann holds a National Goalkeeper license from the United Soccer Coaches in addition to the National C and Youth licenses from the USSF.
